Who is the interviewer?George Hartman
Sherman was born in Vervan, Germany on September 4, 1863, and moved to the U.S.A. when he was 6. When he was older, he learned blacksmithing from his father and continued blacksmithing for 40 years. Once the new railroads were built and running in Nebraska in 1870, he took a train to Lincoln, where he took on painting. His experience during The Great Depression was somewhat brutal. He lived on corn meal and sorgum and went around barefoot most of the time. I can tell he hated The Great Depression because he said, "The worst depression for me was what we now call The Great Depression."
To me, I think Sherman had a very successful life because he accomplished his blacksmithing and painting careers. What i was dissapointed with was that he didnt go into much detail about The Great Depression, he only said two sentences about it.

George Dodge was a child after the civil war ended. He believes that the Great Depression is nothing compared to the depression that occured after the Civil War, he claims that it was THE Great Depression. He went on to say that people were living off wages of a quarter, if that. And his family had to make a living off of selling butter and sugar to the town he lived in.
I believe that George Dodge is a very laid back, relaxed kind of person. He seems to think the Great Depression isn't nearly as bad as the one he went through as a child. Which leads me to believe he is a very opinionated individual as well. All though there wasnt much information given about the Great Depression in this interview, you can clearly see that he couldn't be bothered any less than he is.

I thougth that she went through alot in her childhood and she still got some where far in life and became an educated nurse for the navy.
